Sorry. There is no workaround. Once the cube has been created it is bound to
that data source.
You can change where that data source is connected to, i.e. point it to a
different server and a different database, but you can't change the name nor
what data source it is using.
BTW: DSO/XML isn't really changing it either. It is just re-creating it :-)
