You can use NLBS to load-balance users between multiple SQL Servers on the same network, but how are you
planning to keep the data on the various SQL Servers in synch?

What is your application/number of users, that you think you need to scale-out?

This is three tier app with aspx pages. c# components and SQL. The number of webusers would be around 1 million and db size is around 4 GB. Majority of db is transaction db. unfortunately i am unable to give more details of this app

Yaa keeping the data in sync is one of the issues i am aware of. i hoped someone would figured it out. the db consists of file/filegroups. Thats how i am able to use active - active cluster. One other option i am thinking is create one more cluster and move some of the files to this cluster and keep the rest in the same cluster.

NLBS to load balance users, do u mean web users or sql users. If its SQL users, can u send me some pointers pl

Thanks for ur response
