Default Windows 2003 High Security Template - 01-16-2004 , 08:27 AM

I have a W2K3 cluster with the High Security Template
installed. When I try to install SQL 2000 on the first
node of the cluster, the setup fails while creating
virtual server resources on the cluster. The installation
works fine with the setup security template installed. The
following application event log error is reported.

Event Type: Error
Event Source: MSSQLSERVER
Event Category: (3)
Event ID: 17052
Date: 1/15/2004
Time: 2:55:12 PM
User: N/A
Computer: test
Description:
The description for Event ID ( 17052 ) in Source (
MSSQLSERVER ) cannot be found. The local computer may not
have the necessary registry information or message DLL
files to display messages from a remote computer. You may
be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this
description; see Help and Support for details. The
following information is part of the event: [sqsrvres]
checkODBCConnectError: sqlstate = 28000; native error =
4814; message = [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL
Server]Login failed for user '(null)'. Reason: Not
associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.

Hi,

Did you see any errors in the sqlstp or the sqlclstr log
files in %windir%? SQL2000a does install successfully
after the High Security Template is applied on Win2003.
Post any errors you find we can troubleshoot from there.

Thanks,

Ray
