Yes. A clustered SQL instance depends on many resources, one of which is
the physical disk(s) the data is stored on. Losing connectivity to the disk
will cause that resource and all resources that depend on it to fail. That
will trigger a cluster failover.

Hi all,
Assume I have a two node Windows 2003/SQL Server 2000 cluster, with each
node connected to a SAN via a single fibrechannel HBA.
Will failover be triggered upon failure of the active node's HBA?
(thereby severing its connection to the shared disk)?
Or is failover only triggered if the heartbeat is not maintained?
thanks a lot,
