Hello, I am trying to install SQL 2005 as Active/Active Cluster. You may refer to my other posting, "HELP: Problem installing SQL 2005 with Clustering". I believe that I need to do something additional in the Cluster Admin MMC, but I don't now what. I am working in a lab environment and I have the following setup in Cluster Admin: MSDTC Quorum disk Cluster IP Address Cluster Name Disk F: Data Disk G: Backups Disk H: Trans Logs In our production environment, the following resources exist: SQL Server (INST1) resource type = sql server, Group = ServerName-A I don't understand what this is, or how to create it. There is no resource named SQL Server. Can anyone help me to understand what I'm doing wrong and how to correct this so I can get SQL installed? TIA, Rich |

You only have enough disks for a single instance. Each instance maps to a virtual server which requires its own unique disks. Resources, including disks, cannot be shared across virtual servers/instances. -- Geoff N. Thanks for the reply Geoff. There are three other disks (J: K: and L: ) available to the 2nd server. There just are not yet defined in the Cluster Admin. Also, I don't know if this is correct or not, but our DBA said that to install SQL on the first server, they did not need to be there. When installing SQL on the second server, they would need to be there. Can yo uconfirm that? The DBA also said that the other resources in Cluster Admin would be added by the SQL install. Does this sound correct? Do you know if there is documentation that takes you step-by-step through the install? I've not found that yet. ~~DetRich "Geoff N.
