Default upgrade sql 2000 active/passive cluster to sql 2008 - 01-27-2010 , 08:15 PM

hi

i have an active/passive sql sever 200+sp4 cluster and i need to upgrade
it to sql2008 cluster. the BOL is saying " to run the setup on passive
node first then active node & when i failover to passive node the
databases will be upgraded to 2008".

any best practices/steps i need to follow to upgrade with out any
issues. what if i run the setup on active node? will this be an issue?

thanks

No it won't be a problem because the installer will not upgrade an active
node. You MUST do it in the order recommended. YOu cannot do it in any
other order.
