Default Upgrade Cluster > 4GB RAM - 02-01-2005 , 07:31 PM

We want to upgrade our two nodes active/passive cluster from 3.5 GB RAM to 6
GB. We add the RAM in the passive node first, set the /PAE switch and restart
window. We then failover the Cluster Resources to the passive node. However,
the operation failed without giving me any error message in Event Log. The
passive node just restart itself and the Cluster Resources go back to the
Active Node. It seems that it is caused by having more than 4 GB RAM. What is
the proper procedure for this upgrade? Should we put down both nodes and add
the RAM at once?

Hi

If the machine restarted itselft (it probably blue screened too), check thta
the RAM is good and the machine supports it.

A Machine re-start after adding hardware points to hardware problems.

Thank you very much. I check the Window Event Log but didn't find any trap
for blue screen. I also run diagnostic on the machine but didn't find problem
on the RAM. I may run an in-depth check on the RAM again.
