Default Start & Stop Service - 04-06-2004 , 02:56 PM

In SQL Server 7.0 NT 4.0 Ent. How do I start and stop the SQL Server
service. When I stop the service with the service control applet, it just
restarts itself. How can I stop this with the cluster admininstrator?

Thanks

Paul

Using the Cluster Administrator tool, right click on the
SQL Server Resource and select "Take Offline".

I'm trying to prepare for a disaster and restoring the master database.
I'll need to restart the service in a single user mode. Can I do a net start
to start in single user mode or will the cluster grab it back. In other
words I want to control the service for a while.
Thanks
