Default SQL2005 move from DAS(SCSI) to SAN(Fiber Channel Adapters) - 04-14-2009 , 05:43 AM

Hi all,

Could someone please help me with some advises or whitepapers if available
regarding the SQL2005 move from Direct SCSI attached Storage to SAN(Fiber
Channel Adapters).

Is anyone aware of any document explaining the steps who should the database
moved from DAS(SCSI) to SAN(Fiber Channel Adapters).

So far I was only able to find one MS Article with db detach and attach
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/224071.

I would like to know more about the whole procedure moving the SQL2005 DB
from DAS to SAN, or general steps when migrating from DAS(SCSI) to SAN(Fiber
Channel Adapters).

The technical specs are as follows;
2 x Windows 2003 Enterprise (Clustered Active/Passive)
SQL2005 Enterprise
DAS is HP MDA 1000
SAN is EVA 8000

Any help is more than welcomed!

Thanks,

Pluto

Russ Kaufman (Clustering MVP) has a great article on how to do this:
