Default SQL2000 Win2k3 SP3 for SQL - 05-13-2004 , 04:28 PM

I am trying to install SP3 for sql on a Win2k cluster
with 4 nodes. I get the following error when it is
running.

Unable to verify state of SQLServer for upgrade. Please
verify SQL is runnable and you have entered a valid
password.

This happens with either NT Auth or SQL Auth. I am logged
in as the cluster admin on the box that has SQL Server.
The cluster admin account is also used to run SQL Engine
and the Agent.

I created the alias in named pipes to get this far, and
have the failover node already configured.

Thank you

HI,
I had the same error. It is due to blank spaces for the TEMP variables
(usually c:\Document and Settings ....). Check the article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;328290

I hope it helps you,
Best Regards,
