Default sql server service can not start when failover - 05-12-2004 , 10:07 AM






I meet problem when one node of cluster servers go down.
The backup node take the shared disk and IP , network
name, ..., but can not bring the sql server service on
line , failed several times.

Does anyone have pro exp. on this senario?

What kind of messages do you get in the SQL errorlogs, event viewer logs,
and cluster logs when you can't start SQL?

Have you tried to bring the resources in the SQL group online one by one to
verify whether it is actually the SQL resource that is failing (it could be
that something that depends on SQL, such as SQL Agent or Fulltext, can't
start and causes SQL to be stopped after it starts).

Does the problem only happen when one node crashes, or does it also happen
if you manually failover with "move group"?
