Default SQL Server resource failed but SQL starts - 10-13-2004 , 11:23 AM

We have 2 SQL clusters where the SQL Server cluster resource fails but if you
go to the SQL Manager, you can start the service and query the DB.

Has anyone seen this before?

This could be due to any one of several reasons ranging from long recovery
times to DNS issues to general networking issues. You will need to look
into the SQL Server error logs, the system & application event logs and the
cluster log to get an idea of which area to start drilling into.
