Thanks for response Linchi, I see. I read up the requirments for it and they are a bit demanding. But it doesn't say that I need to dedicate entire instance to SQL Server. My question is, is it good idea to have default instance and a name instance running at same time on a Cluster enviornment? Thanks! -- Mohit K. Gupta B.Sc. But if it wants to have an instance all to itself (wouldn't be surprised), you may not have a choice but to install one (assuming that you already have a default instance installed and the OCS folks don't want to use it.) Presently both servers have 4GB ram, with 3.4Ghz 32-bit Quad-Core CPUs on both. Our Network guys are installing Microsoft OCS 2007, and are demanding SQL DBA team install named instance on the cluster enviornment. I have turned them down so far, but wanted to ask everyons opinion on here. Thanks! -- Mohit K. Gupta B.Sc. CS, Minor Japanese MCTS: SQL Server 2005 http://sqllearnings.blogspot.com/ |
