Default SQL problem - 07-10-2009 , 11:20 AM

I got the following error below while trying to take my database ofline
Error occurred while attempting to drop worktable with partition ID
171518519279616 and

Unable to drop worktable with partition ID 173615678750720 after repeated
attempts. Worktable is marked for deferred drop. This is an informational
message only. No user action is required.
Apperently this has caused the master database to be in a suspend status a
kill and rollback of the process did not help fix the issue I was wondering
if some can asists with this issue without having to restart the msQL server
services.
Thanks

Hi
Can you post the entire error message from the ERRORL.LOG file?

Hi,
Thank you for contacting Microsoft TechNet Managed Newsgroups.

To further diagnose this issue, could you please first let me know what the
version of your SQL Server is?
You can run SELECT @@VERSION to check it. If your SQL Server is 2005 and
the version number is less than 4035, I recommend that you first apply the
latest SQL Server 2005 service pack. Based on my internal research, there
are similar issues with the same error were caused by an known issue
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/937343/en-us) fixed in SQL Server 2005 SP2
CU2 which was also contained in SQL Server 2005 SP3.
You can download it from this link:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...7c3-348c-4faa-
8ae5-949fdfbe59c4&displaylang=en

If it does not help, please help collect your SQL Server Error Logs for
further diagnostics. By default, the error logs are located in the folder
%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL(.n)\MSSQL\LOG. Please compress
the entire folder to a .zip file and send it to me
(changliw_at_microsoft_dot_com). If the file is larger than 5MB, please
first send me an email and then I will send an email response and let you
how to upload the larger files.

Thank you!

Best regards,
Charles Wang
