SQL Mail on a Virtual Cluster

SQL Mail is not cluster aware on a failover, but having
it is better than not, I believe. What tasks can be
scheduled to check for the proper functioning of SQL Mail
on a cluster . Are there any third party tools that can
help in doing this?

According to kb articles at the following link

you can setup the same MAPI profile for each node of the cluster
