Hi Experts,

I have a customer running SQL Server 2005 and his database's are on the
physical server. We would like his entire database only on the SAN and not on
the server. Can anyone tell me what are the best practices to place this on a
SAN.

Shall we do a Mirroring on SAN and can we operate the database directly on
the SAN?

Any inputs or pointers would be great!

Best practices for physical disk usage do not change because a SAN is
involved. You can attach a SAN to a SQL serve and store data files on the
SAN. Follow the usual practices when moving SQL data files and you should
have no problems. Mirroring is supported on appropriate SAN hardware.

The fact that the target location is on a SAN does not matter to the
procedure.
