Default SQL cluster running but can't access - 03-04-2004 , 02:35 PM

Finally got the cluster service running (2k3) and SQL 2000
successfully installed. Looks like everything is running properly as
indicated by Cluster Administrator and Enterprise Manager but I cannot
connect to the SQL server. Netstat shows no 1433 listeners on either
cluster box... what did I miss?

Thanks.

If the install was a named instance rather than a default instance, it won't
be listening on 1433. Use the SQL Server Network Utility to determine the
actual port number. Also, make sure you have SP3a applied or SQL won't use
the TCP/IP network stack.

SP3a... usually things still work before you update them (and usually
break AFTER you update them). I forgot about this one.

Thanks.
