Dear It Pros,

i've installed Sp3 for SQL 2005 on a 2 Node A/P cluster. I paused the 2nd
Node and installed successfully SQL Sp3 on the first and active node. I
restarted the first node. After reboot i "unpaused" 2nd Node and installed
SQl 2005 SP3 successfully , but suddenly it appears again for installation, i
can install it successfull but it asks verytime. i tried moving all
resourcegroups to 2nd node and
SP3 failed to install. Moving back the resources to Node 1 the installation
succeeded.
Any Ideas ? thank you in advance

SP3 is a cluster-wide install. It doesn't deal well with node-by-node
installation.

Leave both nodes on and apply the SP3 and see if that resolves your issue.

thank you for your answer. This moring i made Node2 active,

stopped Windows Update Service (wuauserv) deleted the
C:\windows\softwaredistribution Folder and started the wuauserv again,
and nothing happens since that. I started wuauclt /detectnow to force
Windows Update detection but it seems that it works now.
Node 1 was paused due to MS Security Update installation from April and
restarted.

Yesterday i left both nodes on as you suggested and installed the SP3 on
Node2 , it was installed successfully but after 2 minutes it asks again to be
installed.
