Default SQL 2000 and SQL 2005 on same cluster node - 12-08-2008 , 03:28 PM

Is it possible to have 2 different versions of SQL running on the same
physical box for a cluster?

If so, am I correct in assuming that you need a different logical server
name for each instance?

fenclsr1 -- physical box
fensql2005 -- logical name where 2005 instance is installed
fensql2000 -- logical name where 2000 instance is installed

If this is correct, I'd appreciate confirmation from someone. We've never
done this before.

Yes

Yes. Also, you will need an IP for each instance, and separate disk space.

Really, it is pretty straight forward. You install one instance and then you
install the second instance.

Please feel free to ask questions if you run into any issues. The group here
is great.
