Default SP3a Install Node Pausing - 08-24-2004 , 04:35 PM

Hi All:

I am upgrading to SQL SP3a from SQL SP2 in a SQL2K dual node cluster
environment W2K SP4 is the current OS. I have no test environment so
I was hoping for a little advice before I attempted this. My
understanding is that SP3a will stop the service on one node box
initializing a failover during install. If this is a normal procedure
that is cool if not, my question is would it be recommended to pause
any of the nodes during this installation process? If so what is the
recomended path.

Thanks,

Eric H

You should not pause either node during the installation of SP3a. Just run
setup from the active node and let it update both nodes.
