Default SP3a install - 04-06-2004 , 02:06 PM

I need to upgrade my SQL 2000 cluster to SP3a. The cluster is an Active/Passive 2 node setup connected to an EMC 4700. Has anyone done something similar to this? What are some of the "gotchas" I need to be aware of? What are some good documents that you used? Any info on this would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Just run the service pack from the node that owns the SQL Instance. Note: this will cause an outage to SQL Server while the upgrade is in progress. You will need to schedule an outage with users

If you are currently on SQL2K sp2 and you have any full-text catalogues, be prepared to call MS Premier Support after the upgrade as sometimes full-text catalogues "fail" after the upgrade.

I've installed SP3a on lots of single instance clusters. The documentation
that the service pack ships with is sufficent. No gotchas that I've
encountered.
