Default Shares not failing over - 02-10-2004 , 03:01 PM

Win2K SP4 with SQL2K SP4.

Have noticed that some of our users home directories are
not accessible when failed over to node A? Both from the
user account and an Administrator with full permissions.

Failing back to Node B they are accessible?

I'm not seeing anything that jumps out to me making these
act the way they do?

Also noticed the same with some folders we created lately
and they are not shared out either. This is on another
drive.

Looked at KB224967 How to create file shares on a cluster
and wondering if this wasn't done on the folders in
question?

Also, how do you edit what folders belong to an active
resource? I can add a new one but how do you edit or
delete a "file share" resource?

Thank you,

Todd

This is not a SQL Server problem, but a general file share
one that you should post in the WIndows clustering group.
For things to fail over, they need to be clustered file
shares. That said, never make the file shares
dependencies of any SQL Server resource.
