Test it.
Apply it to the Passive node.
Reboot.
Move Group(s) to Passive node. Making it the Active node.
Apply it to the now Passive node.
Reboot.
Move Groups(s) back if needed.

Cheers,

Rod

Are you asking about a SQL service pack or a Windows service pack? It looks
like the prior answers apply to Windows. For SQL Server you apply a service
pack once per instance, no matter how many nodes are involved.

Cindy,

Thanks for the response, but I am a little concerned. It
seems logical that when the SQL is installed on the second
node from the first, the binaries transfered include any
from SQL Service Packs. But, with the original node as
active, the SQL version shows as 8.00.760 with [SP3]. With
the new node active, the version shows 8.00.194 with [RTM].

SQL seems to be operating fine, however we are receiving
lots of timeout messages at various places in the app.
Because of these messages, I investigated the version and
found the discrepancy mentioned above. Any advice??

TIA,
Ken
