Open the Cluster Console and navigate to the group where your resources are. Right click SQL Server Agent and select "take Offline" that will bring the server agent offline. Right click again and select Bring Online. That simple and you have recycled your services. In case u want to restart the entire server w/o rebooting the server select SQL server and click take offline. That will take the agent and Fulltext offline along with it. and follow the same proc to bring it back online Hope that helps.. I am learning the ropes concerning supporting sql server on a cluster. I have a couple of 2 node clusters running active/passive with SQL 2005. In setting up Database Mail and Sql Server agent notifications, I found that I had to set properties to select the mail type and profile for the Sql Server agent. To make the changes effective requires "restarting" the Sql Server agent per documentation. That is where my question is. How should I restart the sql server agent? From all I've read, I should not touch these via the Services console but rather the Cluster Admin. But I see no way to restart the agent via the Cluster Admin. Any advise? Thx, Russell |
