Windows 2008 and higher can adjust dependencies without shutting down SQL.
All earlier versions of Windows Server require a SQL shutdown to change
dependency settings.

We are running an active/passive SQL 2000 Ent. SP3 environment.
I need to remove 2 physical disk as SQL Server dependencies.
The disks are not being used for anything.
Does the SQL Server service have to be stopped in order to remove the
dependencies? Or can i just move the physical drives out of the
dependencies list
on the Dependencies tab of SQL Server properties GUI?
Many thanks in advance for any help! |
