This is unlikely a clustering specific problem. It's more
likely a hardware problem in your disk subsystem.

I'd do what the BOL recommends with regard to this error.
In other words, "Check the accessibility and condition of
the device in question.

Run hardware diagnostics and correct problems, if
possible."

Also, your Windows system eventlog may have more error
related to the disk I/O operations.

hi

i have an sql server 2000 on a ckluster Actif / pasif ,
with raid 5 for data and raid 10 for log
I had some times the famous message 823 severity 24
state1 on tempdb and prod database

I execute all the dbcc commands , i reindexed all
important tables with no success

to day i have still this message with failover of the
cluster twice a day and data loss
adding to this the message 3426

did you have any idea about this

thanks

Linchi is correct. 823 errors usually indicate hardware problems. Please
get the hardware checked. I would be very concerned about a cluster that
fails over twice every day.
