We contacted MS about this. They suggested this fix, the
JDBC Drivers hotfix. This did not solve the issue. They
are currently in the process of helping us determine the
problem.

FYI...

We were able to overcome these failures by ditching the MS
JDBC Driver. We have successfully tested JSQLConnect and
aveConnect JDBC Drivers, both run fine with our load tests.

We have concluded that the JDBC Drivers were at fault on
our failed attempts.
