You might want to check to to see if the other node is a possible owner of
all of the resourses.
I had a problem like that and there on resource that I have to put the other
node in as a possible owner.

See ya....

I have a 2 nodes active/passive SQL Server 2000 cluster running on a
Windows 2003 server cluster.

When I shutdown the active node and then the failover is starting to work.

I can see all of the SQL Server services has failovered to passive node in
Cluster Manager and no error or warnning message appear.

Everything seems to look fine. However, a big problem happened!
The problem is the failovered SQL Server can't be found anymore.

I try to use Enterprise Manager to connect to it, it failed to connect.
All of applications using the database through virtual server can't not
connect as well.
Only those 2 server in cluster still can use Enterprise Manager to connect
to it normally.
I use other server to ping the virtual server is ok, the virtual server
network name also is ok.

After I reopen the active node and failback the SQL Server, everything is
return to fine.
I don't know what happened is result in this strange situation.
Can anyone help me to figure out this problem?
