Default Physical Disk counter does not show up in cluster - 06-10-2004 , 04:26 PM

The Physical Disk Counter does not show up in the cluster or node performance counters. I have verified that DiskPerf is supposed to install the counters at bootup, but they do not show up in the Performance Monitor

The reason I want this is because we have an issue with accessing disks. When we add a disk resource, the opening pagelet takes ~5 minutes, the node and dependency pagelets are quick, but the disk selection pagelet also takes ~5 minutes. This behavior also appears when adding a new file group to a database in SQL Server through Enterprise Manager (the disk selection window takes ~5 minutes to appear). Also, when node 2 owns the disks, we can see it through it's local explorer, but when node 1 ownes them, they do not show up in it's local explorer

Any Ideas

System: IBM X455 (x2
Disk: FastT700 Fiber - current driver on HBA
OS: Win2KAS - SP
SQL: 2000 Ent. (Mult Inst) SP

Network as recommended in KB25875
