Default One of my nodes keeps rebooting - 09-13-2004 , 03:10 PM

Hi all,

I have a two-node database cluster built on Windows 2000 AS. After
rebooting one of the nodes for updates, it started to reboot on the logo
screen when the progress bar reaches the end (just before switching to the
blue background and login dialog box). I'm trying to figure out if this is
a software or hardware issue. What log should I check to get some hints on
what could be happening with this node?

The other node is fine and has ownership of the resources for the database
server, but I need to get the first node back up again fast.

I'm just looking for other ways to fix this besides doing a repair with the
W2K AS cd as the configuration for this was long enough to figure out. I'm
more a programmer than a cluster specialist, but HR is limited...

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Eric

Have you tried selecting the 'Last Known Good' configuration as a boot
option?

Hi Geoff,

Yep, the result is the same using the last known good configuration and safe
mode. The HD led indicates that the disk is being used for a 2 or 3 minutes
and the server reboots.
