Default Network Service for SQL 2008? - 06-16-2009 , 01:04 PM

Hi,
With clustered SQL 2005 installations I always needed to create a
service account (and security group) for my clustered installations
(both SQL and MSCS). Has this changed at all with 2008? I don't
suppose the Network Service account is usable for SQL Server, Agent,
et al. in a clustered installation, is it? It would really be helpful
not having to change passwords when their expiration date comes up.

TIA,
Bill

Yes, you can use the netowrk service account.

BTW, if you don't want SQL service accounts to expire, put them in a
separate OU under AD and change the password expiration policy for that OU.
