Default Needing to migrate cluster to physically new machines with SQL2K - 07-01-2003 , 03:30 PM

We have a current 2-node Windows 2000 Advanced Server cluster running SQL 2K
SP3. We are needing to physically replace the machines in the cluster
(hardware upgrade). The new machines have Windows 2003 Advanced Server
installed.

I figured the easiest way to do this is to remove a node from the cluster
and then add one of the new machines (windows 2003) to the cluster. Then do
the same to the other node. It appears from various KB articles that a
mixed OS environment of 2K & 2K3 are supported (KB313037). Is this correct?

Is there any documentation already out there that covers doing this?

Anyone already attempted and run in to problems? Any advice?

Thanks.

Yes it is supported. Follow the " Windows Server 2003 documentation Help" on upgrading cluster steps.

SQL Server does not support the installation or use of SQL Server Failover Clustering on Microsoft Windows Server
2003 server clusters where the Windows Server 2003 server clusters have Terminal Server installed on the cluster.
