Default Multi instance failover cluster - 08-10-2010 , 03:46 AM

Hello guys,

we've got a little problem with adding the second node to the second
instance.

Everything works fine with the first instance.

The failover cluster is configured active/passive.

We've got 2 2008 R2 x64 Servers & SQL server 2008 SP1

We've added the second instance over add/remove programs sql server/change.

Now we want to add the second node for the second instance but the
required field stays empty. We can't choose the second instance.

Anybody an idea what went wrong?

Default add instance to SQL 2008 on Windows 2008 Failover Cluster - 10-08-2010 , 10:52 AM

You define the IP address and the network name when you create the service/application in the failover cluster. In failovwer cluter manager select services and applications and configure a servicve or application. There is a wizard to walk through
