Default MSDTC in Windows 2008 Cluster... - 08-18-2008 , 09:06 AM

Hello,

I've been attempting to build my first Windows 2008 failover cluster and
wanted to create the MSDTC resource since this will be a SQL cluster but when
I go to create the resouce it is asking me for a disk to use, and normally I
would use the Quorum disk as I have in the past in 2k3. The Quorum disk is
not available as a selection like in Win2k3 and it only shows me the other
two disks I have created for Logs and Data for SQL server as I haven't
created the app group for SQL yet on the cluster. Do I need to have another
disk totally devoted to MSDTC in Windows 2008? If so, should I be able to
assume safely that the size of the disk needs to be only the same size as the
quorum? Any comments, links, or articles on this would be greatly
appreciated. I have yet to find any technet resource that goes in depth on
this topic. Thank you in advance.

We should see a recommendation sometime from Microsoft, but they are likely
still celebrating getting SQL 2008 out the door.
