I added the MSDTC service in a 2 node WIN2K8 cluster using one of the 2 clustered disks. While I try to install SQL fail-over cluster - it tells me that I can not use the disk since the MSDTC service is dependent on it. How do I get around this? I want to be able to use the same disk for both MSDTC and SQL. I have 2 disks - one for SQL logs and one for SQL Data. |

You need to have separate physical disk resources for your SQL instance. What you can do, however, is remove the MSDTC and then recreate it using the quorum disk for the MSDTC. This is supported, but it may be an issue for performance if you use MSDTC extensively. -- Russ Kaufmann MVP, MCT, MCITP x7, MCTS x9, MCSE x4, CTT+ ClusterHelp.com, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Email:russ (AT) clusterhelp (DOT) com http://www.clusterhelp.com Blog: http://msmvps.com/clusterhelp |
