Default MSDTC installation help ... - 01-18-2004 , 12:34 AM

Iīm trying to install a MS Cluster with two IBM x370
machines and Storage Server IBM FAStT200 Fibre Channel.
The cluster installation procedure complete succesfully.
After the installation of MC we test the cluster
operations.
After this test, we proceed to install MSDTC with the
command "comclust.exe" in the first node of cluster.
The MSDTC was installed without errors, following the
instructions of "SQL Failover Cluster" manual we made the
installation of MSDTC in the second node ... the
installation finish without errors, but MSDTC failed to
start and the cluster is corrupted, btw, the MSDTCLog
directory was not created ... we tried to fix the problem
with the recommendations in KB294209 but didnīt work.

What is the problem ? why the MSDTC doesnīt install in
the cluster ? what is the right procedure to install SQL
Server in Failover Cluster ?

Thanks ....

I am not sure from your diesciption if you did this, but comclust has to be
run on both nodes of the cluster.

ok, yes I did in both servers.
First I ran COMCLUST in the first node and was good, but
the problem was when I ran COMCLUST in the second node,
after this the object MSDTC in the cluster group failed.
