I've just installed clustering on a pair of Intel Itanium boxes running 64
bit Server 2003 Enterprise. I've followed the setup instructions in 301600
and 817064 for MS DTC. The disk, ip address and network name resouces come
online ok, but the MSDTC resource fails with the following event log entries.

1082 Cluster service failed to restore a registry key for resource MSDTC
Resource when it was brought online. This error code was 3. Some changes may
be lost.

1069 Cluster resource 'MSDTC Resource' in Resource Group 'MSDTC Group' failed.

4389 MS DTC setup failed to populate the shared cluster registry. The DTC
resource will not be able to come online.Error Specifics:
d:\nt\com\complus\dtc\shared\mtxclu\mtxclusetuphel per.cpp:120, CmdLine:
"C:\WINDOWS\cluster\resrcmon.exe" -e 880 -m 884 -p 1140, Pid: 760

4390 MS DTC setup failed to populate the shared cluster registry with
information about MSDTC's log.The DTC resource will not be able to come
online.Error Specifics:

Any ideas ??

Have you tried this

solve your problem, but it won't make it worse
