Default Mount Points - 04-19-2004 , 04:26 PM

I've read in clustering articles that mount points are not supported. I've also read that they are. Which is it

Has anyone implemented them in a SQL MSCS cluster

On a clustered instance of SQL Server 2000, data storage on mounted drives
is not supported. Please check this out:

SQL Server 2000 support for mounted volumes

Hope this helps.

Veritas Volume Manager adds support for mount points on
W2K. The Ms stand is that Veritas must be the first point
of contact for support requests when Volume Manager is
used.

I've implemented it on an earlier version of Volume
Manager with good results.

W2K3 supports mountpoints and saves you some money. Volume
Manager don't (or didn't) come cheap.
