Default Migrating Data to a newly attached San - 03-21-2005 , 02:46 AM

Hello,

I have read through a lot of the info on how to perform this type of
operation, but the more I read, the more confused I became. Here is
what my basic setup is:

5 Dell Servers (2450, 2550) connected to a Power Vault SCSI attached
SAN. We have a 2 node active/passive cluster that host a SQL cluster &
IIS Cluster. We purchased a CX300 EMC SAN that will replace the PV. All
5 servers will be attached to both SANs for the purposes of migrating
the data.

My main concerns are The quorom & Disk Signatures. We want to basically
copy the data to the new drive, and then make the new drive the old
drive letter. I was told about a number of ways of doing this, but I
just want to make sure I am doing this correctly.

I have read some of the threads that walk though just basically doing
an xcopy and changing the drive letter in Disk management, and I have
read others that has used the Attach-Detach method. I have even seen
some that mentioned about using the Cluster Recovery Tool and restoring
the disk signature.

Can someone please shed some light here for me please.

Thanks in advance
