I have already read the famous ms345193 article and I have decided to install SSIS on each node but not configured it as clustered resource. I know that is not important if I install SSIS first on Node 1 or Node 2; I want to explain what I think to do to install SSIS. In order to do it, do I install SSIS on local disk (C on each node (asfor SQL Server setup)? "Linchi Shea" wrote: If you configure it locally, there is really no order in terms of which node to configure first. After installing SSIS on each node, I would like use it in order to populate some databases in the two SQL Server instances: is it necessary has SSIS as clustered resource? No necessary. If you really want to cluster it, you can, but it's not recommended and doesn't really add any value (but does add potential problems). See Books Online for more details http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...3(SQL.90).aspx Linchi "Pasquale" wrote: Please, your reply isn't very clear for me. I have a two node cluster (a/a) with two SQL Server instances. Now, I have to plan to install SSIS, but not as cluster resource. Each node have a local disk. Each SQL Server resource group have two disk (one for the data and the other one for the transaction log) on a SAN. I think to install SSIS on each node. Do I put it on each resource group containing the SQL Server service or is it better to create a new resource group? Which disk SSIS have to use, the local or one of the two assigned to each SQL Server resource group? I remember that I want to use SSIS not as a cluster resource. Does exist any white paper about to install SSIS in a cluster environment as not a cluster resource? Thanks |
