We have a consultant setting up a SQL 2005 Cluster. This person is asking
for a temporary domain administrator account for the installation. He says
it is needed for setting up Notification Services. I can't find anything in
the documentation that says this is needed. Has anybody came across this
before?

Also, if it is needed, what changes/effect does this do to the domain?

He needs a domain account that is an administrator on all cluster nodes to
do the install. Nothing more.

Also, Notification Services is discontinued for SQL 2008. I wouldn't be
building anything new on that platform.
