We have SQL 2000 Active/Passive cluster running on Windows 2003 SP1. I need to apply SP4 but want to minimize downtime. Would the following work? remove the passive node from the cluster apply SP4 to the server add the server back to the cluster failover to the server with the newly installed SP4 remove the other node (previously active, now passive node) from the cluster apply SP4 to this server add back to the cluster Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you |

That won't work. Once you add the server to the cluster, you have to reinstall SQL and repatch. -- Geoff N.
