Default Hyper-V Active/Active 2 node Cluster - 03-23-2010 , 09:34 AM

Hi,

We already create an Active/Passive 2 node Hyper-V Cluster, but now, we
need 2 node Active/Active cluster.

Is it possible? How can we do it?

Thanks/Regards,

Daniel Costa

First, this is a SQL Clustering newsgroup,so your question is a bit
off-topic.

Second, Since I do know Hyper-V, what do you really need? The terms Active
and Passive have no meaning in current clustering. In Hyper-V you simply
add more VMs and place them on whatever nodes are convenient. You may need
more LUNs but that is a storage issue, not really a clustering issue.

Thanks.

That's what I need to ear. I am just searching for a solution using the
same LUN's.

Thanks.

Windows 2008 R2 allows for CSV (Cluster- Shared Volumes) that let you have
VMs on the same LUNs yet running on different servers.

Note that you cannot upgrade a cluster from 2008 to 2008 R2 in place. tTere
is a upgrade/migrate process, but it is a bit complex.

Thanks Geoff,

Do you have any documentation about CSV?

Thanks,

Daniel Costa
