Default How to Backup SQL 2005 Cluster - 04-29-2008 , 08:16 PM

Hello,

I have recently configured two node SQL 2005 failover cluster. I'm wondering
if anybody has some king of document/article on how to backup the cluster
(both servers and databases). I'm planing to use NetBackup 6.5 for this
purpose.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!
Sigitas

Backing up a database in a cluster is really not different from backing up a
datbase in a standalone instance. If you use some third-party utility, you
typically need to ensure that the utility is installed on all the nodes that
the SQL instance can be moved to. Or more generally, you should test the tool
to make sure that backup would work regardless which node the SQL instance
may be running on.
