Default Fatal Error - SQL Server 2005 - 03-02-2009 , 07:42 PM

Hi,

I have started getting the following in the log of the sql 2005 cluster. Is
this is a known issue?

A fatal error occurred while reading the input stream from the network. The
session will be terminated.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Hi Manoj,

Check to see if one of the NIC in the cluster machine is dying or there
is cable issue. Does this error show up on both Nodes of the cluster? or
Single node? If its both nodes the issue is most likely outside the SQL
Cluster.

In cluster we have two NIC, one for private network (heart-beat) and
another public. So it can cause issues with your client communication if
public NIC is having issues. If it's the private one; then your
automatically failover might not work properly.

Thanks.

Hi,

This is an A\P cluster. So the issue appears in the log of the active node.
NICs are fine and same is the network.

Thanks,

Ref: http://www.sqlcoffee.com/Troubleshooting004.htm

I had to disable the chimney setting on my Cluster environment also.
However I wasn't getting the error above; I was getting intermittent
disconnects between the nods. But I have disabled that and the communication
between nodes seem more stabled for myself.

Thanks,
