Hi all I have a SQL Server cluster running active/passive. Over the weekend due to a network problem, both machines lost connectivity on the public network. We had our Failover Threshold set to 10, and period 6 (ie failover at most 10 times in 6 hours). Our cluster attempted to failover 10 times, then stopped trying (which is what is to be expected). We eventually had to manually restart the SQL service once our network issues were fixed. My question is, if we had left things down for 6 hours (ie, the failover period), would it had tried to start failing over again, or would both nodes just have stayed as offline? Thanks all!! It would stay offline, forever. This is an excellent reason for monitoring software ![]() Cheers, Rod MVP - Windows Server - Clustering http://www.nw-america.com - Clustering Website http://www.msmvps.com/clustering - Blog "Krissi" <Krissi (AT) discussions (DOT) microsoft.com> wrote in message news:C7FF93B7-EC62-4B83-979A-175AED2D3C46 (AT) microsoft (DOT) com... Thanks. So in this case, there is no way for our cluster to automatically come back online right? "Rodney R.
