Default Event Viewer not available - 01-13-2004 , 03:46 PM

Hi,
Someone upgraded MDAC on two clusterd IIS servers
about a month ago. Now when I open Application Manager
and try to view events, I no longer can, it gives me a
connection error:
Failed to authenicate, or connect to, SQL server.
(0xc0140060)
The person that I am replacing says that it was the MDAC
upgrade that did it, he just hasn't had the time to work
on it. The application event log in 2000 is also full of
the following errors now, thousands a day, I am I'm not
certain how long this has been going on, but I'm pretty
certain that they are related:

__CLASS: MicrosoftAC_Monitoring_LC_IndicateFailed_Event
__SERVER: WEBSERV09
ServerGUID: {6DAB4547-1C69-44BA-B49A-81D6E6050CFB}
EventClass:
MicrosoftAC_Monitoring_PerfLog_WriteError_Event
EventId: 8010
EventSource: 1
GUID: {2C63567B-B8C1-4D2B-929C-55120EF1F7D3}
Status: 0x80070057
StatusMessage: The parameter is incorrect.
TimeGenerated: 1/13/2004 9:35:34 PM
Type: 1
DisplayName: Monitoring LC IndicateFailed

Any help is greatly appreciated, I guess that I could
take the MDAC upgrade off, but , I think that there are
security issues.
Thanks,
Ishmeal
