does anyone have an opinion on doubletake as a 3rd party tool to do
clustering of sql servers?

Hi Chris,

yes I did setup some time ago an "stretched" Hyper-V failover cluster with
SAN mirroring based on doubletake.
They can do LAN or even WAN replication in syncron/asyncron and also a huge
plus was they don't rely on any shared storage :-)
