Default disk i/o on my hp server - 06-04-2010 , 02:54 PM






Anyone have insite: I have a hp dl380 server with 2 drives on the os and 6
for data configured in raid. We recently experiecing extremely high disk i/o
traffice coming from sql 2005. Performance monitors shows. My system
running server 2003 standard with 24gig ram.

Performance monitors shows.

avg disk queue lenth = 1588
% Processor Time = 16
% disk Read Time = 25
% disk time = 80153
Avg disk sec/transfer = 1.7

wow, thats pretty high. not really much we can tell you but if you
identified it as SQL then you'll need to check whats running in SQL to
figure this out. Take a peek at Activity Monitor to see whats causing all
the IO.
