Default default instances - 03-06-2004 , 11:23 PM

I understand this is not recommended, but is it technically possible to have
a non-clustered Default instance on a physical node and a clustered virtual
Default instance running on the same node in the cluster group? I don't see
how the operating system would allow for two MSSQLServer services to run
with the same name, unless one happened to be Named instance (when the
service would be called MSSQLServer$Instance).
